Lots of Snow This Year

This is a view out the front deck on the house we have rented for the summer. 

Just to prove that you don't have to have a monster tow rig.  The car is a VW towing a trailer (taken in front of the Safeway store in Leadville.)

I was antsy so I decided to see what it was like attempting to go up Hagerman Pass near Leadville.  I got this far and had to put the Jeep in 4WD and lock the axles to go farther.

The depth of the snow was very deceptive.

 

Went a little farther and discovered the snow on the road was getting deeper so I turned around.

 

This is Torquios Lake.  The expert figured out how much runoff there is going to be due to the snow melt and had let the water down to make room for it.
